Surgical dressing should be removed on the third day following surgery. Incision should be left open to air thereafter. If there are no sutures or staples on the surface, you may shower once dressing is removed. However, wound should not be soaked underwater. If staples or sutures are present, cover the wound with an occlusive dressing for the shower only. Sutures and staples will be removed on the first postoperative visit 10-14 days following surgery.
Postop patients should be on "light activities only" at home. That means no chores and no driving until the first follow up visit.
